JOB DESCRIPTION
The Corporation of the City of Orillia has an opening for the part time, contract position of Customer Service Experience Specialist in the Recreation and Youth Services Division of the Corporate Services Department.
DUTIES
- Track and analyze customer encounters to identify errors, inconsistencies, and possible areas of improvement with an emphasis on attracting Youth, and assist with the improvement of customer service processes and customer interactions to create a customer focused experience; focused on engaging the youth population.
- Oversee the development of marketing and social media plans and engagement strategies, including the implementation of and reporting on the success of the social media plans and engagement strategies for each target market.
- Manage correspondence via phone, email, social media and other avenues. Develop and share customer satisfaction surveys, including data collection, analysis and outcome reporting.
- Research trends and develop strategies to attract users to the facility.
- Assist with the management of our contra advertising accounts.
- Provide back-up support to Customer Service Representatives when required.
- Understand, adhere to, and enforce Corporate Policies & Procedures, Confidentiality Guidelines, Emergency Procedures and Health and Safety Standards for all participants and staff.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Currently enrolled in or looking to enroll in a recreation, marketing, business or communication diploma
- or degree.
- 2-3 years in front line customer service experience. Experience in a municipal recreation setting considered an asset.
- Experience with creating engagement and marketing plans preferred.
- Intermediate computer skills using MS Office Suite including Outlook, Excel and Word and various social media platforms. Experience with ActiveNet software and photography and video skills considered an asset.
- Current Standard First Aid / CPR C / AED from an accredited organization.
- Exceptional customer service, verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently, as well as part of a team.
- Reliable with a positive, responsible attitude.
- A valid Ontario class “G” licence with access to a reliable vehicle is considered an asset.
- A Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check is required for this position, at the incumbent’s expense, prior to the employment start date.
GRANT REQUIRMENTS
This position is financed by the Youth Experience grant through the Canadian Parks and Recreation Association. The successful incumbent must meet the following granting agency requirements for employment:
- Be between 15 and 30 years of age when employment begins (inclusive).
- A Canadian citizen, or permanent resident or a protected person as defined by the Immigration and Refugee Act.
- Legally entitled to work in Canada.
- Legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial/territorial legislation and regulations.
Compensation for this position is $15.93 per hour. Hours of work will vary and will include days, evenings and weekends. The contract period will be from September 19, 2022 to March 31, 2023. Interested applicants are invited to submit their application by September 9, 2022 at noon.
