JOB DESCRIPTION    

The Corporation of the City of Orillia has twelve (12) openings for a summer contract position of Day Camp Supervisor in the Recreation, Youth, and Culture Division.

DUTIES

• Responsible for the development, implementation and supervision of specific camp activities.
• Supervise and evaluate staff responsible for carrying out their specific camp program.
• Knowledge of and ability to instruct, arts and crafts, games, songs, environmental activities, and physical activities for children and peers.
• Ensure that the needs of each camper in your activity group are being met on a daily basis.
• Deal with and respond to emergency situations.
• Must attend all staff meeting and training sessions as scheduled.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience working in a day camp environment is an asset.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and judgment skills with the ability to work in a team environment.
• Current Standard First Aid and CPR-C required.
• Possess a valid class ‘G’ Ontario Drivers’ licence with a reliable vehicle.
• High Five PHCD.
• Quest 2 and other related certifications are considered an asset.

Hiring Day will be held on Saturday, February 17 and from 8:30am-2:00pm for successful applicants. You will be contacted directly if you are invited to attend one of these days. This day requires mandatory attendance to be considered for the position.

Work hours vary up to 40 hours per week and may include evening and weekend shifts. The successful candidate will be required to obtain an acceptable and current Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check at their own expense prior to the employment commencement date.
