Description
JOB DESCRIPTION
While supervising the fitness floor deliver high quality fitness experiences and promote membership opportunities that are stimulating and enjoyable for all participants. Responsible for the safety and wellbeing of all participants at all times.
DUTIES
- Supervise the fitness floor, engaging with participants to promote a positive experience and ensuring everyone’s safety.
- Conduct tours of the fitness centre and promote memberships and services.
- Provide a high level of front line customer service including greeting and engaging participants.
- Perform consultations/orientations.
- Maintain complete vigilance while on duty and be ready to respond to any emergency situation.
- Assist in the delivery of fitness programs following required standards.
- Complete administrative duties in a timely manner (e.g. attendance, incident/accident reports, opening and closing procedures).
- Maintain a safe and tidy program space ensuring equipment is set-up and stored appropriately.
- Inspect and clean equipment daily to ensure cleanliness.
- Report all concerns, accidents and incidents to immediate supervisor for follow up and take appropriate action.
- Participate in on and off site promotional and community events.
- Maintain an understanding of department programs and services.
- Understand, adhere to, and enforce Corporate Policies & Procedures, Confidentiality Guidelines,
- Emergency Procedures and Health and Safety Standards for all participants and staff.
- Attend meetings/training as required.
- Personal Training is a required part of this role and is compensated at a higher rate to be negotiated.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 18 years of age.
- Current CSEP-CPT or Certified Personal Trainer (Can Fit Pro or equivalent).
- Degree/Diploma in Physical Education/Kinesiology/Recreation preferred.
- Current Standard First Aid / CPR C / AED from an accredited organization.
- Additional certifications considered an asset.
- Criminal reference with vulnerable sectors check.
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team.
- Previous leadership experience working with children.
- Reliable with a positive, responsible attitude
Compensation for this position is $19.64 per hour. Hours will vary depending on operational requirements, up to 35 hours per week which include days, evenings and weekends. Applications will be accepted until August 10, 2022 at noon.
